New Build Modern Hertfordshire Home
Window Design Project
A bespoke glazing solution designed for a modern new-build home in Hertfordshire, focused on maximising natural light, enhancing energy efficiency, and complementing clean architectural lines.

Project Requirements
A growing family based in Hertfordshire approached us to install the windows in their modern detached new build project. Their primary objective was to achieve energy efficiency and clean modern lines for the property.
The homeowners wanted a contemporary solution that would complement the clean lines of their home’s architecture. Slimline aluminium frames in a neutral anthracite grey finish were selected to maximise natural light while maintaining a sleek, modern appearance. In addition to style, performance was a key requirement. High-performance double glazing with low-emissivity glass was specified to improve thermal insulation and reduce external noise.
Security and safety were also important considerations, particularly with young children in the home. The new windows needed to meet current UK security standards, with multi-point locking systems and toughened glass in key areas.
Timeline & Budget
Following an initial consultation and site survey, the full project timeline was agreed at approximately four weeks from order confirmation to completion. This included two weeks for manufacturing the bespoke window units and one week for on-site installation, with additional time allocated for final checks and finishing details.
The installation itself was carefully scheduled over five working days to ensure efficiency while minimising disruption to the other trades that were on site. Each phase was completed room by room, allowing minimum disruption to the developers schedule.
The total project budget fell within the mid-to-high range for a property of this size, reflecting the choice of premium aluminium frames and high-spec glazing. However, the homeowners viewed this as a long-term investment, with expected savings on energy bills and increased property value helping to offset the initial cost. Transparent pricing and detailed quotations ensured there were no unexpected expenses during the project.
End Result
The completed installation delivered significant benefits in both performance and appearance. The new windows enhanced the home’s exterior with a crisp, modern finish, while internally, larger glass panes allowed more natural light to flow through the living spaces, creating a brighter and more open environment.
Thermal efficiency lead to lower heating costs and a reduced carbon footprint over time. Acoustic insulation was also enhanced, reducing noise from the surrounding area and contributing to a more peaceful home environment.
From a practical standpoint, the new windows provided improved security and ease of use, with smooth operation and reliable locking mechanisms. The installation was completed on schedule and within budget, with minimal disruption.
Overall, the project successfully met all initial requirements—delivering a stylish, energy-efficient, and future-proof window solution tailored to modern family living.
