Juliet Balconies
Frameless and stainless steel glass Juliet balconies for upper-floor French doors and windows, installed across London and the Home Counties.
A glass Juliet balcony lets you open French doors or full-height windows on an upper floor safely, bringing in light and fresh air without the cost or planning complications of a walk-out balcony. We design, supply and install made-to-measure Juliet balconies for bedrooms, loft conversions and new builds across London and the Home Counties.
Our Juliet balcony range
Frameless Juliet balconies → – Nothing but clear glass in a slim channel across the opening. Channels in silver, black or grey, in anodised, satin or brushed finishes.
Stainless steel Juliet balconies → – Glass with a 42.4mm satin stainless steel handrail on duplex stainless brackets, for a crisp architectural finish.
The EazyJuliet system
We install BM Architectural's EazyJuliet system: a single aluminium channel, fascia-fixed to the face of the wall or reveal-fixed inside the opening, holding the glass at 1100mm high. It is load-tested to 0.74kN/m to BS 6180, and takes openings up to 3m wide using toughened laminated glass matched to the width.
Pair your Juliet balcony with aluminium French doors or French windows, or see our frameless glass balustrades for stairs and terraces.
Why choose a glass Juliet balcony?
More light and air: open upper-floor doors and windows safely. Uninterrupted views: clear glass keeps the outlook. No projecting structure: simpler than a walk-out balcony. Low maintenance: wipe-clean glass and durable aluminium or stainless steel.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need planning permission for a Juliet balcony?
Because a Juliet balcony doesn't project from the wall, it usually doesn't need planning permission. Listed buildings, flats and homes in conservation areas may need consent, so check with your council first.
Frameless or stainless steel?
A frameless Juliet balcony has no posts or rails, just glass. A stainless steel Juliet balcony adds a 42.4mm handrail along the top of the glass for a crisp finish and something to hold.
How high is a Juliet balcony?
The glass is held at 1100mm high, the guarding height for upper-floor openings.
How wide can a Juliet balcony be?
Up to 3m. The glass thickness is matched to the width: 13.5mm up to 1.4m, 17.5mm up to 1.8m, 21.5mm up to 2.4m, and 21.5mm SentryGlas up to 3m.
Is it safe?
Yes. The BM Architectural EazyJuliet system is load-tested to 0.74kN/m to BS 6180, the British Standard for barriers, and uses toughened laminated safety glass.
