Our structural glass range

Structural glass at a glance

Every structural glass project is custom made, with double or triple glazing in an aluminium frame, and energy and solar reflecting coatings available. Glass roofs are especially useful where rooms lack light or planning restrictions limit external windows, and glass walls can bring light and personality to open-plan spaces and bathrooms.

Why choose structural glass?

Light everywhere: even in deep plans and basements. Feel of space: small rooms and extensions feel larger. Statement design: unique to your home. Expert guidance: we design with you, your architect and engineer.

How it works

1. Free design visit. We visit your home, talk through the design, glass and finishes, and look at the structure and floor levels.

2. Clear quotation. You receive a fixed, itemised quote for the system, glass, finish and installation.

3. Detailed survey. Once you go ahead, every dimension and detail is checked before anything is made.

4. Made to measure. Your system is custom manufactured to your exact sizes and specification.

5. Careful installation. Our own experienced installation team protects your home, installs everything and leaves it clean.

6. Certificates and guarantees. You receive your FENSA certificate where applicable, a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee and the manufacturer's guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

What is structural glass?

Glass used as part of the building itself, in roofs, walls, floors and extensions, rather than only in windows and doors.

Is a glass extension suitable for a period home?

Yes. A simple glass box can be a striking contrast to a traditional property as well as a matching feature on a modern home.

Will a glass roof be too hot or cold?

Modern glazing helps keep the space comfortable, and energy and solar reflecting coatings are available.

How is the glass supported?

In an aluminium frame, with structural glass support beams available. We work with you, your architect and structural engineer on the design.

Do I need planning permission?

It depends on the size, position and your property. We check this with you and your architect at the design stage.
