Whether you want to open a whole wall to the garden, make a statement at the front of your home or add a stylish side entrance, aluminium doors combine slim frames and large panes of glass with strength, security and low maintenance. As an Origin accredited partner, we design, supply and install made-to-measure aluminium doors across London and the Home Counties.

Origin door systems

Bi-fold doors: the OB-36+ is Origin's slimmest and most energy-efficient bi-fold, with a 36mm sightline and U-values as low as 0.78 W/m²K; the OB-49 and OB-72 offer 49mm and 72mm sightlines with Secured by Design accreditation available. Sliding doors: the OS-20 has a 20mm interlock and panels up to 3m high; the OS-29+ has a 29mm interlock and U-values as low as 0.78 W/m²K. Front doors: the Kensington and Sandringham ranges, Secured by Design accredited, with weathered, level or mobility thresholds. All carry Origin's guarantee of up to 20 years.

Why choose aluminium doors?

More glass: strong aluminium frames allow bigger panels and slimmer sightlines. Secure: multi-point locking and PAS 24 or Secured by Design options. Energy efficient: thermally broken frames and high-performance glazing. Low maintenance: powder-coated aluminium won't warp, swell or need repainting.

How it works

1. Free design visit. We visit your home, talk through styles, colours and glazing, and take a full measure.

2. Clear quotation. You receive an itemised quote. If you'd like to see the products first, we can take you to our supplier's factory.

3. Detailed survey. Once you go ahead, a surveyor checks every dimension and detail before anything is made.

4. Made to measure. Your products are manufactured to the exact size of your openings.

5. Careful installation. Our own fitting team protects your home, installs everything and leaves it clean.

6. Certificates and guarantees. You receive your FENSA certificate where applicable, a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee and the manufacturer's guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose bi-fold or sliding doors?

Bi-fold doors fold back to open almost the full width of the opening, ideal for connecting the house and garden in summer. Sliding doors have fewer, larger panes and slimmer frames, so they give a better view when closed. We can show you both at your design visit.

Are aluminium doors secure?

Origin's bi-fold doors are tested to PAS 24, with Secured by Design accreditation available on the OB-49 and OB-72. Origin sliding doors use multi-point locking, and Origin front doors are Secured by Design accredited.

Can I have a level threshold?

Yes. Level and low thresholds are available on many of our doors, and Origin front doors offer a 20mm mobility threshold. Whether a flush finish is possible depends on your floor and drainage, which we check at survey.

Do I need planning permission for new doors?

Replacing existing doors on a house is usually permitted development. Widening an opening or adding doors to a new extension can need planning permission and structural approval, and listed buildings and some conservation areas have extra rules.

What guarantee do I get?

Every installation comes with a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee, plus the manufacturer's guarantee of up to 20 years on Origin doors.
