London Office Meeting Rooms

Window Design Project

A glazing solution designed for a London office refurbishment, creating 3 dedicated meeting rooms within an open-plan workspace while maintaining a bright and connected environment.

Project Requirements

A London-based office client approached us to deliver a bespoke glass partition solution as part of a small internal refurbishment. The primary goal was to create 3 dedicated meeting rooms within an open-plan workspace—one that would feel bright, open, and connected, while still offering a high level of acoustic privacy.

Maximising natural light was a key priority. The client wanted the new meeting room to feel spacious and inviting, avoiding the enclosed or “boxed-in” feel that can often come with traditional partitioning. As a result, full-height glazed panels were specified to allow light to flow freely throughout the office.

At the same time, soundproofing was essential. The space needed to function as a practical meeting room where conversations could remain private without disrupting the surrounding workspace. Acoustic laminated glass and precision-sealed framing were therefore incorporated into the design to significantly reduce sound transmission.

Aesthetically, the client had a strong vision inspired by Art Deco design. They were particularly drawn to the classic steel-framed Crittall-style look, with its distinctive grid pattern and bold lines. However, due to weight, cost, and installation considerations, a more practical solution was required. To achieve this, a lightweight aluminium system was chosen, carefully designed to replicate the iconic industrial-style appearance while offering easier handling, faster installation, and a more cost-effective outcome.

Timeline & Budget

Given the relatively small scale of the project, the timeline was streamlined to minimise disruption to the client’s day-to-day operations. From initial consultation and design approval through to completion, the entire process was delivered within Three weeks of meeting the client.

This included site measurements, bespoke design detailing to achieve the desired Art Deco grid layout, and the manufacturing of the aluminium-framed glazed panels. Installation itself was completed over two to three days, with work scheduled to avoid peak office hours where possible.

The budget was carefully managed to balance design ambition with practicality. By opting for a high-quality aluminium system instead of traditional steel, the client achieved the desired aesthetic at a more accessible price point. The reduced weight of the materials also lowered installation complexity and associated labour costs. Overall, the project remained firmly within the agreed budget, with full transparency maintained throughout.

End Result

The finished glass partition successfully transformed a section of the office into 3 functional, visually striking meeting rooms. The space is now flooded with natural light, creating a bright and welcoming environment that enhances both productivity and comfort.

The Art Deco-inspired design was brought to life through the elegant grid pattern of the aluminium frames, closely emulating the sought-after Crittall-style aesthetic. The result is a sophisticated feature that adds character and architectural interest to the wider office space.

From a performance perspective, the acoustic glazing delivers effective sound insulation, allowing meetings to take place without distraction or concern for privacy. The lightweight aluminium system provides durability and ease of use, with slim sightlines that maintain the open feel of the office.

Overall, the project achieved an ideal balance between style and functionality—delivering a cost-effective, design-led solution that meets the client’s practical needs while elevating the overall look and feel of the workspace.
