Sliding Doors
Overview
Aluminium sliding doors give you the widest possible panes of glass with the slimmest frames. Large panels glide smoothly on their tracks to open your room to the garden, and when closed they act almost like a glass wall, framing the view all year round.
Sliding doors are ideal where you want maximum glass and minimal frame, or where space is tight because the panels slide rather than swing. Two, three and four-panel designs, corner sliders that remove the corner post, and flush or low thresholds all make a clean, contemporary finish possible.
We start with a visit to your home to understand the space and how you'll use it. After a full measure and a detailed survey, your doors are manufactured to size and installed by our own experienced fitting team, who take care to protect your home throughout.
Every installation includes a FENSA certificate, a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee and the manufacturer's product guarantee. We supply and fit aluminium sliding doors across London, Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey. Not sure which to choose? See our bi-fold doors, or book a free design consultation.

Origin sliding door systems we install
We install Origin's aluminium sliding doors, designed and made in the UK.
Origin OS-29+: 29mm interlock sightline, panels up to 2,200mm wide and 2,620mm high (up to 6m² and 300kg on a double track), U-values as low as 0.78 W/m²K, concealed tracks, a flush-stacking option and multi-point locking with a 3-star diamond cylinder. Double or triple track, with Origin's guarantee of up to 20 years (standard environments).
Origin OS-20: an ultra-slim 20mm interlock for the most glass, panels up to 2,200mm wide and 3,000mm high (up to 6m² and 200kg), and at least six locking points. Double or triple track.
Both come in a wide choice of powder-coated colours, and every installation is covered by our 10-year insurance-backed guarantee.
Sliding doors: frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the OS-20 and OS-29+?
The OS-20 has the slimmest interlock (20mm) and taller panels, so it gives the most uninterrupted view. The OS-29+ is Origin's most thermally efficient slider, with U-values as low as 0.78 W/m²K, and carries heavier panels on its double track. We'll recommend one based on your opening and priorities.
How big can sliding door panels be?
Individual panels can be up to 2,200mm wide and up to 3,000mm high on the OS-20, or 2,620mm high on the OS-29+, with a maximum of 6m² of glass per panel. Very large panels may need specialist handling on installation day, which we plan for at survey.
How many panels can open?
On a double track, one or more panels slide behind a fixed or sliding panel. A triple track lets you open two-thirds of the width, with the panels stacking behind each other.
Are aluminium sliding doors secure?
Yes. Origin sliding doors use multi-point locking, with a minimum of six locking points on the OS-20 and a 3-star diamond cylinder on the OS-29+.
Can the track be flush with the floor?
In many cases the track can be recessed so the floor runs through with little or no step. Whether this is possible depends on your floor build-up and drainage, which we check at survey.
Sliding or bi-fold doors?
Sliding doors give bigger panes and slimmer frames. Bi-fold doors open almost the full width of the opening. We'll help you choose at your free design visit.
