Internal French Doors
Overview
Steel-look internal French doors are a pair of glazed aluminium doors that open from the centre, giving you a wide, elegant opening between two rooms. They are ideal between a kitchen and living area, or between the front and back rooms of a Victorian or Edwardian house, letting you open the space up for gatherings and close it off for quiet.
Made on Origin's OI30 system, each pair has slim 30mm sightlines and comes in over 150 RAL colours. Add glazing bars for a Crittall-style grid, fixed glazed panels at the sides or above, and clear, reeded or frosted glass to balance light and privacy. Doors can open into either room.
Every project starts with a free design visit, where we help you choose the layout, colour, glass and hardware, then take a full measure. A surveyor checks every detail before anything is made, and our own fitting team installs your doors carefully and leaves your home clean.
Every installation comes with our 10-year insurance-backed guarantee and Origin's product guarantee of up to 20 years. We supply and fit steel-look internal French doors across London, Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey. Compare them with our room dividers, or book a free design consultation.

Internal French doors: frequently asked questions
French doors or a room divider?
French doors open fully to join two rooms. A room divider is a glazed screen, often with a door built in, that separates an open-plan space while keeping it light.
How wide an opening can they fill?
OI30 French doors fit frames from 660mm to 2060mm wide. Fixed glazed panels at the sides can fill a wider opening.
Can they open both ways?
Each pair is hung to open into one room, inwards or outwards, to suit your furniture and the way you move through the space.
Will they let sound through?
Closed glazed doors reduce noise between rooms compared with an open archway, but they won't match a solid wall. We can talk through glass options at your design visit.
Do internal doors need to be fire doors?
In some homes, such as three-storey houses and loft conversions, doors onto the escape route may need to be fire doors. We check this at survey so your new doors meet Building Regulations.
