The REHAU Heritage vertical slider is a uPVC sash window designed to replicate a traditional timber box sash. It has a deep bottom rail, putty-line detailing, optional run-through horns and two sashes that slide past each other, and REHAU developed it in consultation with conservation bodies.

What affects the cost of REHAU sliding sash windows?
Every installation is made to measure, so we quote after a free survey rather than publishing prices. The main things that affect the cost are:
The size of each window (tall Victorian sashes cost more than small cottage sashes).
Sash style, deep bottom rail and run-through horns.
Georgian bar patterns, such as six-over-six or two-over-two.
Colour, and whether inside and outside are different.
The condition of the opening, as old box frames sometimes reveal damaged brickwork or lintels.
Your quote is fixed and itemised, so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
How we install REHAU sliding sash windows
Free survey: we record the existing sash proportions, bar pattern and horn style so the new windows keep the character of the façade.
Planning check: we check conservation area and Article 4 rules before you order.
Made to measure: each Heritage sash is fabricated to the opening.
Installation: old box frames and weights are removed, the new frames fixed and the reveals made good, usually a day for two or three windows.
Sign-off: FENSA registration, a Building Regulations certificate and your guarantee.

REHAU sliding sash windows: frequently asked questions
Do uPVC sash windows look authentic?
The Heritage system was designed to replicate timber box sashes, with a deep bottom rail, putty-line detailing, run-through horns and Georgian bars, so it sits comfortably on Victorian and Edwardian façades.
Are they draughty like old sashes?
No. Triple brush seals and severe weather performance keep draughts and rain out, and there are no gaps around old weights and cords.
Can I use uPVC sash windows in a conservation area?
Often, yes, but it depends on your council and whether an Article 4 direction applies. We check the rules at survey.
How energy efficient are they?
The REHAU Heritage vertical slider is A energy rated, with a U-value of 1.2 W/m²K using double glazing.
Do the sashes tilt for cleaning?
Sliding latches that allow the sashes to tilt are available as an option, which makes cleaning the outside glass easier from inside.
How big can a uPVC sash window be?
The Heritage system goes up to 1800mm wide and 3500mm high, with sashes up to 50kg, so it suits tall Victorian windows.
Are uPVC sash windows cheaper than timber?
Usually, yes, and they avoid the regular painting and repair that timber sashes need.
