Overview

REHAU tilt and turn windows open two ways from one handle. They tilt inwards at the top for secure, rain-safe ventilation, or swing fully open from the side for cleaning and escape. Because the sash closes tight against the frame on all four sides, they are among the most airtight windows you can buy.

They are made on REHAU's TOTAL70 platform with a 16mm Eurogroove for a wide choice of hardware. Aliluxe designs, supplies and installs them across London, Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey, and they are a favourite for flats, loft conversions and modern extensions.

Colours and finishes

REHAU's range runs to 24 named colours across four collections: Contemporary (greys such as Anthracite Grey and Slate Grey, plus Midnight Black), Timeless (Simply White, Clotted Cream, Chartwell Green, Pearl Grey), Traditional woodgrains (Turner Oak, Irish Oak, Golden Oak, Rosewood) and Statement shades such as Racing Green. Tilt and turn windows look especially sharp in Anthracite Grey or Midnight Black for a modern elevation.

What affects the cost of REHAU tilt and turn windows?

Every installation is made to measure, so we quote after a free survey rather than publishing prices. The main things that affect the cost are:

Window size and sash weight (larger sashes need heavier-duty hardware).
Double or triple glazing.
Colour and finish.
Hardware options such as tilt-before-turn, restrictors and locking handles.
Access for upper floors and any work needed to the opening.

REHAU tilt and turn windows: frequently asked questions

How do tilt and turn windows work?

Turn the handle one way and the top of the sash tilts inwards for ventilation. Turn it further and the whole sash swings open like a door for cleaning or escape.

Are tilt and turn windows good for flats?

Yes. They open inwards, so upper-floor windows can be cleaned safely from inside, and the tilt position gives secure ventilation.

Can a tilt and turn window be a fire escape?

Yes. Fully opened, a correctly sized tilt and turn window can provide an escape route. We size them to Building Regulations at survey.

Are they safe with children?

Restrictors and tilt-before-turn hardware stop the window swinging fully open unless an adult unlocks it.

Do tilt and turn windows get in the way of curtains and blinds?

They open into the room, so allow space for the sash when fully turned. Many people use blinds fitted to the sash or tilt-only ventilation day to day.

How energy efficient are they?

Very. The sash clamps against the frame on all four sides, and TOTAL70 frames are rated at 0.8 W/m²K with triple glazing.
