Gable Windows

Overview

Aluminium gable windows are shaped to follow the line of a pitched roof, filling the apex of an extension, barn conversion or double-height room with glass. Slim aluminium frames keep the view as open as possible and make a striking architectural feature both inside and out.

Gable glazing is often designed together with bi-fold or sliding doors below, so the glass runs from floor to ridge. We make triangular and trapezoid shapes, with or without upstands, to suit your roof pitch, and colour-match the frames to your doors.

Every project starts with a free design visit, where we help you choose the style, colour, glazing and hardware, then take a full measure for an accurate quote. A surveyor checks every detail before anything is made, and our own fitting team installs your windows carefully and leaves your home clean.

You receive a FENSA certificate, a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee and the manufacturer's product guarantee. We supply and fit aluminium gable windows across London, Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey. Compare them with our picture windows, or book a free design consultation.

  • Triangle or trapezoid shapes, each with or without upstands.

  • Tested to PAS 24 and Secured by Design accredited, in over 150 RAL colours, with Origin's guarantee of up to 20 years.

Gable windows: frequently asked questions

What shapes can you make?

Triangular and trapezoid gable windows, each with or without upstands, designed to follow your roof pitch.

Can the gable match my doors below?

Yes. We design the gable and doors together so the frames line up, and finish them in the same colour from over 150 RAL shades.

Do gable windows work on a new extension?

Yes. They are a popular way to bring light into vaulted extensions. We work alongside your builder and measure once the structure is in place so the glazing fits exactly.

Will a glazed gable need Building Regulations approval?

Glazing in a new extension is covered by the extension's Building Regulations approval, and replacement windows in existing homes are certified through FENSA.
